Magical Moonshine Theatre

Welcome to the special kids'
entrance to our website. We hope we can
make this a fun way to learn more about
puppets and the Magical Moonshine
Theatre. Please come back here again and
again and write us your thoughts and
ideas so we can continue to make this a
fun place for puppets and puppeteers on
the internet.
(Want to know about the
pictures above? On the left is the Mama
Armadillo and her little son, with the
Fox who tries to take their land, from
the MMTheatre show "The Armadillo's
Rancho," a folktale from Argentina.
Next is a picture about shadow puppets
from our Kids Project Pages. You can find
the link below and make your own puppets
and shows! The round circle shows some
shadow puppets from our show about how
animals came to live with cave-people
long ago, from a story by Rudyard
Kipling. The short story is called
"The Cat Who Walked By Himself"
and you can find it at the library or on
the internet. And the last picture is of
a caveman hand puppet and a wooly
mammoth.)

Calendar of Events -
Wondering if
Magical Moonshine has any shows coming up
that you can come to? We hope so. Click
here to see. If there aren't any, try
again in the future. We are always adding
new events to our calendar. And if there
is not a public show for you to come to,
maybe you will see us at a private party
or celebration or at your school or local
library.
Benjie
Nelson Puppets - Our son Benjie
started performing with us when he was 4
years old. Now he is all grown up (it
happens to all of us if we wait long
enough!) and he has his own puppet show.
You can click on this link to see what
kind of things he is doing these days.
When he is not doing puppet shows, he is
making robots at Stanford University. We
think that robots are really, really
technical puppets!
Puppet Project Pages Are you
ready to make YOUR own puppet show? Or
just some puppets or masks. Your local
library probably has lots of books on
making puppetry. We also have some fun
projects that you can do here. You might
need a grownup to help you get the
materials and tools you need, then you
can GET CREATIVE!
Do you like Pirates? Magical Moonshine Theatre has a
pirate show (well, they are sort of
pirates.) Check out the pirate show HERE.
PVC Pipe Organ
Installation for the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Festival This link is not puppets, but
has photos of a very fun musical
instrument that Michael made for the
KIDS' AREA at a music festival in New
Orleans.
See Michael's Automata
Page (whimsical moving sculptures with
pictures and videos-not quite puppets,
but fun) These aren't exactly puppets but
are kind of puppets, as they are machines
that you turn the crank on and they move
(like puppets!) They are fun to make and
fun to play with, and maybe even fun to
look at on this website.
