Seasonal and Special Programs

(UNDER CONSTRUCTION)

Magical Moonshine Theatre presents the artistry of puppet theatre. Sometimes this takes the form of a production that remains in the repertoire for years (our oldest continuous running production has been in repertoire for 19 years!) and other times it may be production that is performed once or only a few times. The medium of puppetry allows this freedom and we take advantage of it when we have the time available and when the situation arises.

Recent Special programs included:

The Night Before Christmas- This handpuppet production was a recreation and celebration of the very first production that MMTheatre performed in 1979. The premise is that a group of puppets attempts to act out the Night Before Christmas with mixed success. The show was performed 3 times in December, 1999, and will probably join the repertoire as a seasonal offering on a limited basis.

The Mammoth Arts Guild Show- This was a special performances using shadow images created from famous art pieces that told the story of how the Mammoth Arts Guild saved the world. The show was designed for the Guild's 30th aniversary party and performed in the open air in Mammoth Lakes, California, 1999.

Just the Two of Us- Another one-performance-only production using black theatre techniques and simple rag puppets that celebrated two momentous occasions for a friend, her 50th birthday and the home-leaving of the last child going off to college.
